Just started a new auto shop and word of mouth has been good for us, but we’re looking for other ways to get customers, any ideas?

I own an HVAC company and I have found local newspapers to work very well. hope that was helpful!
Cost, Target Market, Shelf-Life, Distribution, and Exposure are all things to take in account when making advertising decisions.
I actually do advertising for small businesses and most of the feedback I get from customers is the Yellow Pages. They usually are pretty costly for a big ad but everyone seems to think its worth the money. Since those only come out once a year, it won’t help you immediately.
I’ve also found that direct mail has good results like advertising in a valupack that gets sent to residents within a certain radius of your business. That way your only paying for customers in your area.
I don’t know how big the town is where you live but, maybe the newspaper could give you results also. A lot of people don’t have subscriptions now bc they get their new online but, it would depend where you live.
Also maybe advertise at your local HS or college if there is one in town. You could offer a student discount or employee discount for a big company in town.
I would spread my money around and try a few different things. You can do a different coupon ad and track your results that way so you know what avenues work best for you.
I’m assuming you repair cars, maybe you could even get with used car dealers and get them to recommend you to customers who buy cars without warranties.
GOOD LUCK and Congrats!
Call a reporter for the local newspaper and ask if she will interview you. If that works, offer to go on the tv station’s morning show at 6am and answer auto questions. .
